The Spence Barn is a historic wedding & event venue located on a working farm in Springfield, Ohio. Only 56 minutes west of Columbus and 30 minutes from Dayton, guests are encompassed by 360° wide-open rural views & 60 acres of secluded farmland. The gem of the farm, our spacious 6,000 sq ft. barn, has been restored for couples & families to cherish & enjoy.
The Details
The Spence Barn boasts three unique, separate venues on the farm for guests to use interchangeably during their wedding weekend or special event. Venue areas hold up to 500 guests depending on the choice of area, with the historic barn holding up to 250 guests.
Meet the Lloyds
The Spence family was fortunate to own the land up until the 1970’s when it was sold out of the family. In 2016, Nick was able to purchase the land back into the family as a descendent of the Spence Family, and the farm restoration work began. Nick and his wife, Sarah, spent over a year restoring the barn to its former glory for their own wedding in June of 2023. They believe the Spence Barn is a place with a rich past, but also an incredibly rich future. The couple is beyond excited to be able to open up their farm to the community for new memories to be made & love to be shared.

How long do I have the venue for on my wedding day?

We allow ample time with every wedding package.
Full Wedding Weekend - Fri: 12pm-9pm, Sat: 7am-midnight, and Sun: 9-12pm
One-Day Sunday Weddings: 7am-midnight
Microweddings: 6 hours of venue access. The timeframe is of the couple’s choosing!
Are the bathrooms in the historic barn?
How long do I have access to the bridal suite?

7am up until 3 hours AFTER your wedding ceremony. You've got ample time all morning to relax, take in the day, and get ready in a restored condo in the on-site farmhouse. You've got access post-ceremony for makeup touch ups, an outfit change, or even a surprise cocktail hour hair chop! Our bridal suite includes a spacious living area, full bathroom with a rainfall shower, tons of natural light, an eat-in kitchen, coffee bar, and a porch.
Do you have an open vendor policy?

Yes we do! We have no restrictions on vendors (with the exception that bartenders need to be insured). We want your wedding day to look and feel like you, which means bringing in vendors YOU like! If you need trusted vendor recommendations, you’ll find a curated list in our PDF Package.
How many ceremony sites do you have at the venue?

How many guests does the barn accommodate?
We have 8 ceremony spots on the farm. You’re welcome to have your ceremony in our 3 field areas, pasture, under the maple tree, in the barn, corn crib, or in the woods. The 60-acre farm is truly yours for the weekend. The options are vast!
The barn can hold 300 guests. For larger weddings, the venue can accommodate up to 500 with the use of tents or open air, garden-style receptions in one of our fields or in our pasture.
What’s Included for our wedding weekend?
Every wedding package includes tables, padded chairs, table linens, full use of our decor closet, access to our bridal suite, and venue coordination.
Yes! There are 3 air-conditioned and heated bathrooms in the barn, one of them being accessible.
